I tried mechanicals for a while with no issues.. i went to them as i preferred the 2" cutting diameter to the 3/4" of a fixed blade.. to me bigger blood, better trail. I have since switched to fixed (for this season) as i liked the grouping better..

Either are just as lethal as long as you practice so that where your arrow is supposed to go and do its job, it will

Have successfully harvested 2 bull elk in the last 3 yrs using the Rage Hypodermics. Great penetration, large gaping entry for easy blood trail, expired very quickly
The word is min 60# for using mechanicals due to the energy lost. For both elk I was set at 60# and no issues.

If you have no issue with tuning ....a fixed blade has less chance of failing as it is already exposing its cutting edge. I would stick with your fixed blades, but that my opinion , bone can effect the opening of a mechanical if hitting the critter in a bone upon entry.. Both work most of the time.

G5 Deadmeats are damn good! Comes with a practice tip. They fly great.
