    Great share as said.
You guys deserve that Hank the Tank.
Back pack hunts are the most rewarding of all hunting experiences.
    Congrats to you guys.
Hard to keep the velvet looking good getting out of tough country but is cool if you can.

Hank the tank is a hell of a buck! Congrats to you and your wife! Have you scored him? Now I do have one piece of advice for you: you didn't mention that after the shots you gave him any time to bed and die? I personally even after listening to them kick around, will still set a timer for 20 minutes before going in, while thoroughly watching area for movement, and listening further..

great story and great pics; well done, i was there with you

it's funny, an earlier post mentioned waiting for 20 mins after the shots

i'm thinking that after the 3rd shot i'd be running so fast the scree would sound like Chiclets falling on a tile floor and i'd be hootin' and hollerin' like 17 year old me after getting to 2nd base for the first time...........

probably would have tainted the area for the next 3 - 5 years.........

    thanks again

Good question. I can't say I noticed a difference. His body looked as impressive as last year and so did his antlers but then again I didn't know enough about judging headgear. After measuring and scoring his antlers, I have a better idea now of what to look for as far as width, mass and beam length. I'll post an update on that end.

Dino, some of your velvet mulie pics inspired this hunt!
