He’s American. Met him in Nootka this summer. Seemed like a really nice family. Bit of a fumble on his numbers.

Overblown hype - not saying there wasn't fish retention laws broken, and there was a pile of roe confiscated, but, the report still has to slide in chinook decline and orca food in the same sentence....just slanted reporting.

There should be major fines for first offenses, then equipment forfeitures/fines after that. We do have laws, they just need to be enforced.
All news today has to put there over dramatic twist in every article. Sure be nice to see news based on the story and that’s it.

The real question should be, why do they allow the gill net opening in there? 30+ gill net boats in and around Moutcha Bay two weeks before they bust this guy.

Officials should confiscate the works. Boat , truck , trailer, gear etc etc. Auction it off, proceeds back to habitat restoration.

Our Judges and courts are an absolute joke. Laws and rules are there to enforce. Do it! Make an example of folks like this.
