While I've never used a .270, all the Moose I've killed have been with Remington Core Lokt and they've all mushroomed beautifully, retained weight, and the ones I've found have been just inside the far hide.

While it's cheap ammo, in the guns I have that shoot it well I have every confidence that it will perform well on game.

I am a big fan of Partitions however my 308 T3 is not. Last moose I shot (and a few deer) have all been with 165 Fusions and I've been really happy.

Yes, some rifles only like some bullets or even powder.
My old Husky 270 does "not" like Federal at all!, no matter which box I buy from them.
Have had to stick to Winchester ammo, and regardless of bullet, it shoots fine (some absolutely awesome, and other okay).
have talked to Reliable and one of the brothers and his Husky was the same.
So yes, some guns only like certain stuff for sure.

What no " Just put the bullet in the right spot and the animal will die" posts?
its totally ok to shoot a .243 at a moose but we need High end ammo for the 270Win? I don't get it.

I have been using 140 accubonds to take a few elk with my 270 win. I have had very good results, a pass thru on a bull elk and recovered one accubond in the offside hide on one another bull elk. Another pass thru on a mule deer. All have died quickly only steps from being hit. I wouldn't hesitate to use them on a moose, I found the elk I have shot with all the calibers I have used over the years seem to be tougher than moose that I have shot.
Barnes ttsx, the four pedals of death that lead to great a great BBQ.

You can’t hunt moose with a 270 Winchester, Jack O’Connor said it was a sheep cartridge !
