Heres hoping to close the deal with the new set up.
I still use my old Bowtech Allegiance, 57# with Beman ICS 400's and 100 gr 3 blade muzzy broadheads, ripcord rest and trophy ridge 5 pin sight. No change to this bow for years. Worked great on my elk last year. But I no longer shoot as much as I used to although I did practice allot last year for my Rosie LEH.
I'm seriously considering a crossbow for local deer
Same as the past few years...
Excalibur Matrix 380. with "Hot Limbs"
Hawke XB30 Compact Scope.
1.75 lb TriggerTech Target Trigger.
Custom "Boo" Strings with whiskers.
Dr. Stirrup Limb Dampeners and B Killer Bumpers.
Custom Sling.
Custom "Big John" Zombie Slayer Arrows with Luminoks - 405 grains dressed (365 fps).
125 grain mechanical Spitfires.
This set-up has been responsible to the taking of many deer etc.
No reason to change whatsoever.
Expect she may well do the same this season, but likely adding another Big Bear to it's potential menu...
Cheers & Best of Luck to all Sharp Stick Flingers this seaon!

Guess he got to Know me
Relatively new to the archery scene, getting into it about 4 years ago, same time I decided to get a big gun in pursuit of ungulates. Previously waterfowl with scattergun was the only hunting I knew. 1st time bow hunting was a couple seasons ago with a '70s vintage recurve, 40 lbs. I now have a Fleetwood Edge take down with 50 lb limbs. It's essentially an updated Samick Sage clone. Yet to be successful with anything other than winged creatures! Love getting out though.
2017 early season with the "Wildcat" by Dunmark Mfg. of Brantford Ontario
2018 early season with the Fleetwood Edge, made in China! I found a nice tree stand!
Practicing plenty in the yard at short range. This is the best group I've ever managed. I shoot instinctive, no sight, both eyes open.
Prolly never get as close to an ungulate as with my backyard practice session above, but I do pretty well at the Vernon range 20-30 yds. It was over pretty quick for this little feller.
2018 Prime Logic 82lbs 29.5 DL
Day Six 620 grains total arrow weight
Black Eagle rampage 550 grains
2019 Mathews Vertix 75lbs 29.5 DL
Easton 5mm FMJ 505 grains total
Black Eagle X-impacts 505 grains total
Sights:
Black Gold "Pro Sight" 5 pin slider
Black gold "Ascent Verdict" 5 pin slider
spot hogg "hogg it" fixed seven pin
Axcell fixed 7 pin .10 sized pins
That's an impressive grouping Mike especially for shooting instinctive...I shoot aiming over the arrow, as instinctive shooting didn't work for me so well..
