We use the 3000 at work. We’ve bent the rope guide a few times, fiddled around with it. I wish we had the bigger one.

    same here
the Lewis has enough jam to get a vehicle out of a bad spot
It is heavy and it does have limited cable length. Have winched 5 moose out with it. Much easier than a packboard

And no loss of power due to a wet or muddy rope, where moose often die. The endless cable of the capstan style is attractive though.

I have the PCW5000. I’ve pulled a couple jet boats off of sand/gravel bars with it. Also one 6 point elk out of a cut block and up to a landing. They work great and I’d never get rid of mine.

This topic has been discussed a number of times over the years here on HBC.
If you want to read all the posts, use the search function on this (Hunting Gear) section of HBC. Search words Lewis Winch.

Lots of threads will show up discussing the merits of both types of winches.

Thank you for advice but I have already done that before creating this POST.
People lie the most of all before elections, at the war and after hunting.
