These are a lot handier and lighter than the Lewis style.
Not near as strong pulling, but for pulling game the lightness of the rope used
verses the weight of steel cable makes for easier work.
Not to forget the length of rope one can pack in a bucket.

Have one and have pulled out two moose with it. Just picked up another 600 ft. roll of 1/2'' rope for it. Also have pulled out a lot of firewood with it also. You also need snatch blocks and slings and a anchor system for it depending on what your doing with it.
This is the one I use for pulling out to the truck when its close enough. Goes over the ball hitch.

Do you guys think the PCW3000 is big enough for moose or would the PCW5000 be preferable?

Go with the PCW5000. Under some circumstances with only one anchor point its nice to have the extra power.

My only experience is with the Lewis Winch. It’s heavy but had tons of power.

I have a come-along that uses rope instead of cable and will never go back to the cable types. Like people above have said, I can haul a lot of rope but steel cable is heavy.
