The July 12 op-ed, “Plan to aid orcas flawed”, by Misty McDuffee, Nick Gaveski and Chris Genovali contains legitimate concerns had it been written two decades ago. It also contains erroneous assumptions about how our hatcheries operate, along with scare tactics that many of those close to salmon issues, including on-the-ground, grassroots volunteers, have come to expect from the Raincoast Conservation Foundation — two of the authors organization.
