Anyone knows if someone in Fort Nelson offers the service to hang/store wild meat? I would prefer to store my meat quarters in a cooler on warm August days if I get something early on my hunt.
Thanks

Prophet River Outfitter/Store used to offer the service, thier 1 hr south of FT Nelson. We've taken moose there early in the heat and as long as the quarters are cleaned and hung in a shady area with good air flow the cool nights should firm the meat up good, just watch for blow fly eggs in the heat

Theres a guy just outside of town that has a cooler and he also does some butchering out of his house. I wouldn't let him touch my meat again, but I'd use his cooler.
Ill see if I can find his number.

Any chance I could get the numbers for either of these guys? My original plan is starting to look like it may fall through, it would be really great to have a back up.
Anyone have current contact info for a meat cutter and or cooler in Fort Nelson? We used one in 2016 and he did an excellent job but I have heard that he had a fire since then and isn’t open for business this year.
