Hubba NX Fast and Light

A couple years ago I scooped an MSR Hubba NX for sheep hunting, as I wanted to skip sharing sleeping space and be able to find tent spots easier, due to the smaller footprint.
Anyway, I've been fairly impressed with that 2.5 pound tent, both in space(especially the vestibule) as well as it's ability to shrug wind when guyed out.

I've just noticed that MSR now makes a Fast and Light add on; A 'Super Footprint', if you will, that has a bathtub bottom, but no mesh/fabric walls. Haven't seen any weight comparisons, but I'm betting that it'd be right around 2 lbs or less in the Fast and Light configuration.

Anybody have some field experience they'd like to share?
If you have ran the new carbon wrapped 'Syclone' pole version with new fly/floor coatings, I'd be curious to hear thoughts on that as well. I don't see me upgrading my circa '17 model until it's used up, but I'm always interested in field reviews on new improvements.

The fast and light body weighs 8oz for the Hubba NX, that has to be a significant savings.

Was thinking the same. I'm just too lazy to dig out my actual Hubba tent body to throw on the scale for a weight comparison.

The bathtub style footprint definitely answers a lot of the issues with the traditional flat footprint.

Absolutely, but, would one miss the “security” of the sealed up full body tent?

Put it this way, it wouldn't be worth a half pound savings. Haha.

Not an MSR but I’ve got the Stone Glacier tent and quite often use just the fly with the tub footprint. I really enjoy using it this way. The extra space gained in the pack and tent is great. Use it well into sept sheep hunting up north and it sheds weather decently well. I think problems may arise if the MSR’s fly doesn’t hug the ground super well.

Be curious to hear your thoughts after some field use.
There's a lot of space for 1 guy and gear. The narrow profile makes the pole structure that much stronger too, IMO. Their tough little tents.
I did put a small slice in my floor, via sharp rock, but a little dab of Shoe Goo made it better than new. Definitely recommend an HD garbage bag or similar for a ground sheet, but that's no different than any other mountain tent.
Strictly cosmetic, but I like the burgundy vestibule on the new models.
