Wow! Awesome job on those. I wish I had the patience and time.

Thanks, it does take patience.
I was lucky to be given the gift of special talents with my hands to create stuff.
That being said, I think my wife has had her fill of me dropping the F'bomb while tying.
So therapeutic, so relaxing....not!!
The therapy actually comes when I have fish on the line from flies I have tied.
Last Weekend
Just an FYI to people newer to fishing (fly fishing).
The Fly on the right is called a Lohr's Damsel.
And I think right about now, the damsel hatches should be starting, and can be a lot of fun.
(also, Mayflies tend to hatch also around the same time)
One thing with that fly, it is hit and miss.
If the fish take it, they inhale it, which is a problem when it come to catch and release, even with a barbless hook, as it ends up half way down their throat.
But, you might also find the fish striking the fly a lot, but not hooking up.
Reason being, the tail can be too long at times, anf then the fly is very "unsuccessful".
Much better to use a "mature damsel" or a "micro damsel".
And, if you find yourself having lot of strikes/nibbling activity but not hooking up on "any fly".
It quite often means the "tail of the fly" is too long.
Make it smaller! and it might help you odds.
2019 chronie season is in the books for me. Had some good days on the water! Here's one from last week.
NICE!

Through some stupidity and misadventure a few years ago, I ended up with two broken legs. My wife decided it would be good for me to learn to tie flies while I was laid up so she bought me a vise, some supplies and books on how to tie various popular flies. Turns out I came up with some variants that were never seen before and never replicated or seen again. The hairy finger poker, the sideways shrimp and lumpy leach were some of my more notable ones. I did catch fish on the lumpy leaches on the odd occasion though.
