    Liard river Info

At the beginning stages of planning a Jet boat trip up the Liard River this fall. Just looking for advice into areas, problem areas, etc. So far I have come across issues at Skooks Landing.... can or can't you launch there now? Also Whirlpool canyon is just below there I've read, as well I've read that the cranberry rapids, apparently unpassible is just upsgtream from that launch? Just looking to have a long run of river and good game habitat. Any useful advice would be appreciated.
    Boat info:
    16' 200hp fire fish piranha
    Center console
    Pneumatic Stomp grate
    200l tank

Skooks was fine last year, although a little on the crowded side when we got there. Not too bad when we pulled out:

You DO NOT want to go downstream. Period. There have been more than a few fatalities there over the years.

I do not know of the upstream rapids you mention. We always go well upstream as we dump into the Kechika.
Never had any problems. We run substantially larger boats though.

Beyond that I don't know much about the Liard itself, we've never really wandered much of it.

    Cheers,
    Nog
