And buddy got another 1 tonight in the same area.
Hmmm too early this year near Barkerville...heading west should prove more productive.
Im headed out in a few days but much lower elevation..Horsefly area..normally when we see dandelions in W.L.bear hunting is good..Mothers day is my favorite and most productive black bear day.

Being a local and having hunted bears here for decades....i would say the highest densities these days are out west. Earnst rd, garner rd, abbot heights....lots of spots to set up a camp...or for an actual forestry site, fish lake is centrally located to hunt any of the above as well as the lavington rd/ramsey creek area. Anywhere out the blackwater rd would also be a good bet!
Good luck!

^ I agree with willy
If you are using a truck, fish lake is a good central spot.
Saw quite a few last weekend. Many way up in the poplar trees.
Are you taking an ATV?
If you are, I'll pm you a great spot out west that needs some bear pruning.
No ATV, just a couple pick up trucks, 4 hunters 15 and under and 3 adults, would like to do some walking as the wife hates driving a lot..although it seems to be the best way to cover ground and see bears in most cases.
We have 7 hunters in our crew, gonna bring a littlw freezer along so we can quarter and freeze them right away..
Also any recomendations for some good trout fishing spots? Be cool to have a cariboo surf n turf!

Nothing around yet but a small guy. No grass to draw out the big guys yet around here.
Still snow in the bush here.

Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"
Fish lake will provide you plenty of rainbows of the pan fry size. Small fish but plenty of them

Was a fun weekend camping, had a bunch of chances on bears..ended up with 2 for our family, one 5 footish bear and this one...skull squared at 19 5/8, good bear for my sons first bear...shot another big one but never found it..none of the bears left any blood trail, all bled internally, one dropped on the spot the other we had to search for..
I got 30lbs of packaged meat off the 5 footer..havent cut up the bigger one yet but should get 4 x that based on the game bags..had ground bear tacos for lunch, tastes amazing!
Maybe someone can tell me how to make the pic show up..

Congratulations! Nice bear for your son.
Cody: It's a pretty cool sidearm you got there. What is it?
Four Leaf Tayback: I don't know what it's called. I just know the sound it makes when it takes a man's life.

Frank, I never thought I'd say this again. I'm getting the pig!
Frank, we gotta get rid of this broad. I know a great place up the road. Lots of alligators.
Marvin: If there's one thing I know, it's women and covert operations.
Frank: Marvin, that's two things.
