Why does this never happen in open season :-)

Found this sleeping beauty on Saturday. Still laughing... The "holy crap" moment was too priceless. I would hate to be woken up like that....

    Too funny!
I have walked by some at close range bedded with a fawn during hunting season (some have late births??).
Have had one walk close to me and just bed down, and she saw me but not worried at all.

But I have never seen one sleep like that with the head down.
    She was "knocked out".
Weird that you got that close.
    Easy pickings for a pred!

The cool thing was it looked like a human REM sleep - eyes moving, tongue hanging out, legs and tail twitching.... then slowly moving up the ladder to consciousness....
