So I bought my new vortex spotting scope as the title says. My budget was for the diamond back but the recent sale at Italian sporting goods store I was able to go to the next level of glass, so I picked up the viper 65mm. I’m very happy with the purchase and the reviews on this scope.

Now im in search of a tripod for upcoming spring bear season so I can officially test this scope out. My budget is not crazy ( hence originally looking at the diamondback scope) but I need a tripod and I don’t want to cheap out. Since my scope is not an 80mm but a 65mm what can I get away with here for stability? I don’t want my scope if angled up with or without a phonescope to start to slide down on its own. I want something sturdy and reliable. Don’t really care if it’s light weight or not.

Thanks in in advance for your help
