    GPS Collars

Anyone have experience with or a recommendation for a GPS collar for a dog - not looking for a powerful tracking hound collar - was looking at some of these that work with an app on your smartphone without the need for cell coverage. Thinking it could be an extra back up for the pup out and about and at the cabin etc.

    Thanks for any input!

I don't get what you mean by a powerful hound collar. You could probably get a dc30 or a dc40 with an astronaut 220 pretty cheap and they will do all you need. They are the older models but it brings the price way down.laelaps is the brand that uses your cell phone so no need for a hand held unit. They are fairly good systems from all accounts I have read, but then you are depending on your phone's battery charge which is usually hit or miss. I don't think you could go wrong with gear from either brand, it's just a matter of how much you want to sink into it.
