I worked in 100 mile for the Forest Service in the late 70's and early 80's. When flying saw lots of wolves, actually killed a large black one on Timothy while hunting deer.

Up at the top of big deka. I went into the woods to take a shit and say lots of massive tracks. Lets just say i went somewhere else. Last year i also had a fox from sulphurous lake sneak up a foot behind me and take a kokanee!
Now that i think about it I haven’t seen any moose since probably 2010. I normally go up there 5-10 times a year since i was 4-5 years old ”17 now”. I did see a big hurd of Cariboo on the mountain near 100 mile, the one with the ski club.
That sucks that your buddy missed. You think you got any? Thats what i love about my 7.08mm its like a lazer beam. Easy on the shoulder too!
Lots of Foxes in the Interlakes area and Very Playfull ! RJ
There are piles of wolves east of town. Over the last 5 years we have been seeing way less deer and moose around our place, coincidence or...
Lots of wolf sightings on and around Green Lake as well. I shot one this fall 10 minutes out of clinton. She was right between two ranches on crown land.
I was out near Bonaparte Lake end of November with local wolf specialist to view livestock predated by wolves. Quite grim to see them eating a young cattle bull alive and prior to an eventual very slow death.

As others have mentioned, that whole area is overrun with wolves. All along highway 24 they are thick. We witnessed a pack of 25 animals tear apart a young bull moose on a frozen lake while we were out snowmobiling. They chase the moose onto the lakes where they start to slip and lose their footing. Not too many animals roaming around those hills anymore. Hopefully the wolves will begin to either die off or move on as their food source dries up
