It was time had to put her down... :(

My Chesapeake Bay Retriever CoCo's heart stopped beating at 12:38pm this afternoon while I held her head on my lap at the vets office.

She was old and tired with many health issues that had caught up to her she could hardly even walk anymore.

I've been up since 2am this morning looking after her she would hold her head against me and look me in the eyes in a way she really has never done before that was saying "please dad its time I don't want to do this anymore"...

My wife son and I made the decision not to prolong it any longer so made an appointment with the vet.

I will miss her so much she has spent almost everyday of her life with me...

Picture taken this morning on our last short stroll together.

So very Sorry , it is one of the hardest things to do. I had to put down my best friend a long time ago and he will never be forgotten and the 14 years we hunted and enjoyed the outdoors together. I am sure you will have many fond memories also. cherish them

A sad day to be sure. I've been there three times myself. Dogs are better than some people.
When in doubt, just pin it.

What a beautiful looking dog, never an easy thing to do, just remember the good times you had.
