I improvise by using a dutch oven, put in a small wire rack to create distance from the bottom (used a cookie cooling rack I bend to fit the dutch oven and height). Meat goes on the rack, wood chips straight on the bottom. Cheap, works pretty good in a camp fire or propane stovetop. No comparison to the big guy, but still quite nice works for fish and smaller meat pieces.
