Beautiful mount, you've preserved the memory and hopefully it will get passed along the generations to comes with great stories.

Wasn't a huge bear, rugged up he's about 5'2 nose to tail...my son says he's taller than me though lol. Only did a rough measurement on a wet skull so far but that was just under 18 squared, teeth were rotten right to the roots. Probably just a pepperoni bear to a lot of guys but he's a real trophy to me!

That's one thing I was looking for, aside from some delicious meat of course...wasn't too concerned with size for my first bear but did want one with "character." I remember specifically mentioning face scars or a chest blaze, ended up getting both but most of the blaze was trimmed away for the rug so I guess that part stays between me, the bear and my son. Hope I inspired everyone for spring bear, sorry if the inspiration also included blowing some of your savings!

Nice looking rug. I might have to try that one day (if I win the lotto) I usually just hack off some hair/fur for fly tying (makes great buggy looking stonies)
