What do you guys that hunt Lynx use for a rifle?
Ive called out dozens over the years but never harvested one. I thought maybe a 22 wmr or 357. Afraid of destroying it but also not taking it quickly without undue suffering.
Thanks

22 WMR sounds about right to me.

“I prefer the saddle to the streetcar and star sprinkled sky to a roof, the obscure and difficult trail, leading into the unknown, to any paved highway, and the deep peace of the wild to the discontent bred by cities…it is enough that I am surrounded by beauty.”

17 hmr within 100 yards,
17gr vmax shot countless coyotes and fox, pin size hole going in usual no sewing needed and only ever had one exit
also have dispatched many lynx in traps with the .17 same results
22 wmr or 17 hmr, whichever you prefer/enjoy more.
375 H&H or 416 Rigby... they re quite tough for their size...
i used a 30-06 lol..it was closest.
I got a new 22 wmr if that's enough I will take it out. I used an elk mouth Reed that I use to make dying rabbit screams. Works really well. Occasionally a bear or cougar comes in though.
I had to dispatch a lynx in a snare once, all I had was my .223, I don’t recomend!! .22 or .17 would be ideal.
22 win.mag. as the lead puts them down I have a 17hrm but the 22mag just kills nicer
