Been making do with an old 60l mec internal frame. Eventually will find a sale price on something wider in the shoulders and bearing weight better.

I hear you on the tight money thing...was there for many years getting my education. A pack that I’m pretty happy with is the SlumberJack. Weighs 5.5# and has a meat shelf. Comfortable and handles heavy loads.
