Geeze... That was enlightening. The Raincoast partnership is something I have had a lot of trouble swallowing. Cancelled our family membership earlier this year and are now only affiliated through our local fish and game club.

Conservation Organization or not the BCWF was founded by hunters and hunters are the #1 conservationists in the game. When you ignore your roots they die and the whole "tree" will topple. It's not to late but it is fast becoming so

Quickly looked at the the BCWF mission on the web page, doesn't give any real mandate as to why the BCWF would be involved in this.

(I would support the fight against any proposed Federal ban on handguns and assault weapons)
It might be prudent for those senior members in the BCWF to consider re-vamping the mission statement of the organization to be more inclusive of "all" shooters and hunters. I find them very weak on a lot of hunting related issues. I certainly wouldn't advocate distancing themselves from being seen as a conservation oriented organization, but it shouldn't be a barrier to other topics of interest that are just as important to the people who pay their dues. The organization is in a longterm death spiral due to it being less and less relevant to the interests of people who hunt and shoot. A conservation organization comprised of hunters should certainly be able to stand up and protect the interests of its members who own handguns. At the very least make a formal statement of support.

Gatehouse/gateholio - I have to ask, what is the criteria for punting a response on this forum? Unsubstantiated rants or accusations are overly broad. Currently there is another thread going on about roadblocks while hunting. Pictures of camps and individuals. Devils advocate here, but how is that substantiated? At best, there is one side of the story and we don't truly know what that story is. All in all though, at first blush, it seems like an unsubstantiated rant or accusation.

Yet on this thread, there was a lengthy write up about past leaders of the BCWF, what they did/didn't do and their history. Once they ran for leadership, they became public figures and any comment she about them would fall under a fair criticism context. There was nothing in that comment that seemed (on the surface) to be false or malicious. It would appear to be far from unsubstantiated rants or accusations. That being said, I can't go back and re-read it to confirm, because the post is now gone.

Please enlighten the masses as to what criteria is used to punt a post. If the criteria is no negative comments about BCWF, just let us know. If it is no negative comments about individual leaders in BCWF that would certainly be helpful.
