    IIRC it was about $800. I think the P1000 was going to hit the market at $1100 or something close to that. Certainly can get into a Coolpix with lesser zoom for much much less. My P600 was only in $350 range when I bought it.

    The new smart phones can take unreal photos. Soectacular when it comes to landscape photography. Way more difficult in the wildlife photography realm. But doable if you are close enogh. Particularly nice when combining landscape with wildlife. Gives one the sense of being where the animal lives.

    IMO most bundles are full of stuff you will never use which drives up the price.

    Thats what I was thinking as well but in this case it's the same price as the just the camera, lense, neck strap, and battery.
