    Quick opinion, safe hanging temps?

I have two WT hanging in my shed. Its gets down to -2 at night, and doesn't warm up past 5 degrees or so until 12 or 1pm, peaks at about 10-12 degrees for a couple hours. By 5pm sun is gone and cools it off fast. Looks like this weather will continue for another few days. The heat of the day is definitely on the warm side but since the meat is in the shade and it will retain the nights cooling, do you guys think it I am safe to hang for a few days? I have a 4 day course and was hoping not to have to butcher them both today.

Those are decent hanging temps for a week in my experience. Providing the game was cooled off quickly and the meat is 'set up' dry to touch. Humidity is the enemy at this point. Happy cuttin!

You're all good, just keep an eye on them for the very first signs of mould. if you see tiny little "blooms" show up...time to cut!

Good question as I have been avoiding going so not to deal with this issue. Would fans help at all? I too have a shed to hang it in, but by 2pm it is 10-12 degrees, thought if I put several fans in there moving the air it may help.

Moving air with fans is an excellent idea - air circulation is very important.

Small squirrel cage pivoting fan works good .... you’ll only need one.

If there's good air flow, it should be fine for 4-5 days like that.

Love those temperatures for aging carcasses.

Open the shack at night and let the cold air in.
Close the shack in the morning and keep the warm air out.

As mentioned those temps are fine, keep it dry and put a fan in there.

Should be fine temps for hanging. Watch for flies though, but the previous cold might have dealt with them. You want the meat to age, not freeze. As others have said moisture is not your friend.
