    Cool 2-05a bull Elk draw

excited to hunt roosevelt elk for the first time.
my partner has 2 previous sucessful rocky mountian bulls.
my question is, he advises against bugeling and calling. we will be going out next week and i was wondering if its to late to get a response.
what time frame would you call in vs not.

i have done a bit of pre season scouting late august. im sure they will be elsewhere since opening of deer.. we did find lots of animals and sign. didnt see any bulls but the elk were there. if anyone has been in that in the past couple of weeks i would love to know if the have seen any movement.

    thanks in advance.

Thank you for his info Elkhound.
Darryl gave us some good information.
We were able to get a couple days in this past week sticking mostly to Halfmoon - Carlson Lake fsr side after not seeing much for sign along the powerlines.
Seen one cow and two calfs at night while returning to camp on the quad. I didnt have time to check out any bow only areas. From the sign we did find it looked to be satelite bulls cruising the area. Nothing to support signs of a heard moving through.

Don’t know if this will be of any help, I just got back from my Rosie hunt on the island, we only saw bulls right down along the valley bottoms due to the heat, if it’s been warm in your area I’d suggest sticking low

Did you try near the malaspina sub station as well?
Darryl is a great guy and loves to see bulls taken. But those herds can move a lot for sure.
Keep us posted. Not done yet right?
