22 size is nice, buy the best you can afford. Stop in at a butcher shop sometimes they know someone with a used one, thats where I got my first unit (US Berkel).
I now have a cabelas unit as it is a bit lighter and easier to move around.

If you are doing more than one deer, or even just one deer worth of grind get a big grinder. The small ones from your local CT or London Drugs are all right for doing small amounts. If you are grinding 40-50lbs or more a small grinder is too slow and your meat starts warming up.

I have had several small small grinders over the years. A handful of years ago I picked up a 1HP Cabelas Carnivore. Much faster and equally as important when you are doing your cutting and wrapping in a small enclosed space is that a larger commercial quality grinder is much quieter.

Weston #8 electric meat grinder works great for us. 3/4 HP grinds a whole deer no problem and makes sausage with the attachments.
Paid $232.99+tax at local hunting store.

Anybody use the Kitchener# 12 from Princess Auto?...sells for about $169. All metal gears.I won’t be using it much, maybe once a year for a couple of deer or a moose and laying out $ 5 or $600 for a meat grinder is pretty steep
