    Ramcat or Exodus?

So stoked for opening day on Saturday. Been practising like mad this summer with my new Micro Supressor. Wish I had gotten a crossbow years ago because this thing is so nice to shoot and I feel like anything that walks within 30 yards of my blind is DOA.

I'm shooting the Zombie Slayers but not sure which broadhead to use for whitetail or a muley. I have the Ramcat in 100gr and Exodus in 125gr. Last night I shot both for the first time and if you can believe it both shots hit exactly the same hole at 25 yards - pretty awesome! The Supressor seems to like them both, so which broadhead would you guys choose all things being equal? (as a side note, I'm also hoping a big bruin will make an appearance and will gladly shoot him as well - so not sure if the 125gr Exodus would be a better choice?) Or should I put each broadhead into the quiver and pull out whichever is appropriate at the time?

What do you guys think? I'm no expert and would love to hear from those of you who are experts.

Thanks in advance and good luck to you all this fall - lets put some meat in the freezer!

    Cheers

    Re: Ramcat or Exodus?

I shoot the Exodus 125 gr Xbow head with my 350SE and although it does not shoot the same POI as the FP's, they group well, are a very tough head and are sharp. Hopefully the elk/moose/deer will not argue with me.

I have no experience with the Ramcats; they seem to get good reviews though.

What is the weight of your arrow with BH? I like to shoot around 400 gr (403 to be exact) for best accuracy and that is why I went with the 125's

I just picked up some Wac'em 125 xbow BH's to try as CT was clearing them out for $24. Seems like a tough head as well.

Pick your poison and have some fun!! Good luck!

    Cheers

    Re: Ramcat or Exodus?

Thanks Sitkaspruce, yes I think I'm leaning towards to Exodus 125gr as well. The arrows weigh about 407 - 408 with the BH on them. They look deadly. I think I'm getting a bit more penetration with the Ramcat's in my target even though they're lighter, but I could just be hitting a soft spot. Those Wac'em's look pretty good and for $24 you can't go wrong. Good luck to you too, and as an aside, thanks for all the informative posts you make on this forum over the years - you've helped speed up my learning curve quite a bit. Cheers!

I shoot the 125gr Ramcat, shoots well and are tougher than they look. I've shot the same broadhead thru my rag target block dozens of times with only minimal bending of the blades.
