    Getting the kids into scouting and hunting

    Hunting season is just around the corner for some, and has started for others....been getting my 5 year old out for some scouting this season, so thought I'd post some pics....please everyone feel free to post your own pics of scouting and hunting with your kids....

    Teaching him that sometimes, you have to let whitetails come to you...see if you can spot them in the pic..

    Always great to see other dads getting their kids out there and teaching them real life skills, I always wanted to hunt since I was little but most likely never would have actually made the leap if it wasn't for my son. Keep it light but don't underestimate them, some of my sons most memorable trips included a couple tears along the way and a lot more KMs than I would have assumed he could handle but in the end "type 2" fun usually prevails. Here's a shot of a nap halfway up the mountain and my son with my bow and my first bear...more rewarding than it ever could have been doing it solo.

    Thats good stuff Harry, time well spent. Had mine out since they were 2, one really loves it. Now theyre 12 and 14 and have shot deer and elk.... cant figure out imgur on the iphone.

    ^^^thanks man, that's awesome, couldn't imagine how rewarding that feeling would be to harvest big game with your kids....excellent pics there 45freezer, that's something he'll never forget, and I bet he savours the bear meat because he harvested it with you...
