Just came down yesterday from dease. dease was ok, but anything south was smokey. Up by blue river, some days could hardly see the hills. The wind changes every few hours tho so it came and went. The gal at the dease hotel mentioned the fire was moving 1km per hour, not sure how close it would be by now. Was pouring rain in bell 2 tho, hoping they got that rain further north too.

Calling for thunderstorm today around Dease followed by 3 or 4 more days of heat, so wont be much improvement. Possibly rain later next week.

Tough call, smoke is very thick and the amount of air traffic doesn't help out the odds of a successful hunt. Cassiar area isn't affected as much but sometimes the smoke layers can settle into a valley and hang there, depending on the weather patterns.

You can check the aviation weather cam. http://www.metcam.navcanada.ca/lb/ca...?lang=e&id=156
Drive BC also has highway cams.

Checked the highway cams. Not too worried about air traffic near Dease hurting the hunting. We will be taking a private aircraft and coming in from the southeast and staying away from the big fires. We are going to get to our lake regardless but if we can’t do any glassing there’s not much point. Played that game before.

Hope things improve for you over the next week or so, but today is one of the worst days in terms of smoke and ash for Prince George. Ash is filtering down and at 6:30 pm, instead of being bright and sunny it was so dark it felt like it was 9:30 p.m.. The fear is that if the situation worsens instead of evacuation alerts, communities may be evacuated just like what happened in the summer of 2017.

I pulled out of there yesterday due to smoke....pretty hard to breath or see at times depending on winds.

It won’t fall through. Summer is short up there. Keep hitting your stair master. Fires will go out.

Thanks we’re definitely keeping our hopes up on vacation in NewYork right now 12-15km walking a day not much for elevation but it’s still miles.
