    Biggest blacky prints, grizz beware!

A friend and myself went to my cabin this weekend to do some work etc and took a day off to go to our secret lake for a days fishing, as we were getting close the rain started for a bit making the roads pretty slick, well in any case lots of prints were to be had, but once at the lake the sun cleared up things and had a wicked day, in any case fast forward to the end of the day and on the way out seen a few dozen rabbits then came across the biggest blak bear tracks period ( well for me), I’ve seen alot of grizz tracks but these were huge, I put my size 12 beside the rear track and my foot looks tiny, the bear was a 16” easily, and then the front was 8” across easily.. Weatherbyman will post the pics as i still cant figure it out...
in any case a 7ft + bear there easily...

Thumbs up Re: Biggest blacky prints, grizz beware!

    Big Boots for sure!

Here's a comparative shot for you:
Size 12 Kamicks next to the bear's tracks:

That one went 7'6" with no stretching involved, and scored just over 22 inches.
Methinks you have one very much worth taking a closer look at on your hands...

    Cheers,

Track looks like a grizzly to me. A pretty good one at that.

It's a blacky 100% as no claw marks and pure blacky characteristics, no grizzlies in that area as well

Yup grizz look at iron noggins pic that is a black bear track. Look at how the toes are more offset on the front paw vs inline in the first pic

Its a better indicator then the claws most look for

If it’s on the mainland there is always a chance of grizzly just might be really low numbers

In the end unless you find the bear standing in the tracks we can only use our own personal judgment

Toe marks follow the contour of the pad & faint claw marks about 1/2'' from the toe. Black bear, and a big one for sure.
