    Duoglas channel (Kitimat) bottom fishing

At the end of the July I am going to try my luck fishing Douglas Channel for the first time. The plan is to throw out some crab traps and target bottom fish(not interested in salmon). For a boat I will be bringing a 16.5 harbour craft so I expect to be limited to where I can go

Is it worth attempting to catch halibut near Kitimat?

Any warnings/advice from those who are experienced with the area are welcome

Advice on locations to target lingcod or halibut would be great but at the worst I just try wherever looks good lol
