    Need Some Fishing Help For Lake Cowichan Van. Isle

    Hey Boys

    headed to go camping out caycuse on Lake Cowichan in a couple weeks and i Am going to be Doing some fishing
    can anyone give me some info on what to use, what depth etc,, going to be fishing out of my personal pontoon float chair, will be down to trolling by paddling and anchoring. i do not fly fish. any help would be greatly appreciated

    Anchor where the creeks flow into the lake, cast and retrieve small spinners and or panther martins. If you have a depth sounder try staying right along the drop offs from 12-20ft. Also if you can get some intel on where they are, the deeper clay shelves are good for trolling small plugs for cuttys

    Watch the lake in the afternoon, you can get some good wind up which will change the lake from flat to pretty bumpy, quite quickly.

    Camping trip over Had a wicked couple days found best set up was the tried and true Ford Fender and a black and white apex anywhere from 20-50 feet really got the cuttys fired up
