Nothing at all wrong with a Sako.

"There is NO Keyser Soze"!!!!!!
"Do cow moose have white inside their ears"?!!!!!
But Once, Cry Once, This rifle is something you could easily be using for 30 years or more so why not spend some $ on it.
I feel more like i do now than i did before i got here
Many great choices and Sako is one of them. Choose the caliber wisely as well.
Their steaks, roasts and burger to me! Tom
I would vote for a Sako as first hunting rifle (I have two s/s M-85's,) they have been accurate and dependable.
If you go that route use the Sako opti-lok scope mounts, I have had trouble with other brands.
Choose a scope that holds zero and tracks reliably.

I had wanted a sako for years but could not bring myself to part with that much money, instead I filled my safe up with other brands of rifles ,6 years ago I bit the bullet and bought a finlight in the classic 270 win threw a loepold vx3 boone and crockett 3.5 x14 on it and im still smiling when ever its in my hands.

Just a word of caution with the 85....mount a scope and check ejection with a fired case prior to paying good money for this rifle!
Are you looking to buy a “new” Sako or a “old” Sako ..
You can't go wrong with a sako, I got mine 5 years ago for a sheep hunt, most accurate gun I've shot
Good rifles, but you're probably better off to buy a Tikka and spend the remaining $1200 on binoculars and boots
