I can't figure out why the small motors seem to last a lot longer than the big motors...

I've got an older 30hp Yamaha triple, oil injected for my 14' Lund.
This thing is a rocket.
Odd enough, even when I'm in the boat by myself, I roll the throttle
and it comes out of the water like a torpedo.
Yamaha all the way.
