    Gas Theft

    QuoteModify

Launched at Stave Lake this morning. Got back to the truck only to discover my 3/4 of a tank of gas some how disappeared. I thought the read out on the dash stating 0 KM to empty was wrong but sure enough a couple k's down the road and I ran out of gas. After a quick inspection there was a clean hole drilled into the bottom of my tank. Drained all the fuel and could not top it off either. Just brutal.

Stopped going to stave years ago, it’s the first woodsy place out of the city, attracts too much shitty people, any time I left there I’d have multiple nails in my tires from the pallet fire slobs, definitely wouldn’t leave my truck unattended up there, if I had to I’d put a trail cam somewhere near by.

That sucks, especially the damage to the tank. I realize it is quirky logic, but I think any self respecting thief ought to know how to siphon.

It is bad enough to steal gas, don't damage the vehicle in the process.

Same thing happened to my brother at his house in Brookswood (south Langley) he put a self tapping screw and some JB weld in to the tank and it sealed it right up

The cops call it vigilantly, and the courts rule it 'entrapment', but it would be great to be able to set up a vehicle
in places like that and wait in the nearby bushes, jumping out with some friends and pound the living daylights
out of the scumbags. Can't see why it can't be done though when the cops themselves use 'bait' cars, boats, and atvs.

Metal drill bit thru metal gas tank? Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
That is a recipe for a serious injury

    because of spark?

Most trucks seem to have poly tanks now, don't they?

I believe would have to be in gas vapor for spark to cause a fire. It's bad enough being ripped off but damage as well.

Did you launch at the boat launch or out on the mud flats this morning.
I cant stand people that do that.
Nothing is like climbing a mountain, and then feeling like you are at the top of the world.
