I looked into it .... seemed like way too much hassle and the resolution was not very good on those GPS screens.
A good phone with offline maps is hard to beat. The only problem is the very short battery life on a smart phone. I plan on picking up a solar charger for next year.
Hmmm I have a Garmin Montana 610 color with back road maps BC..the Montana came with 1 year subscription..the reason it didnt work for me..my free subscription ended 3 weeks ago....grrrrdidnt get to see if it is/was worth it.montana has pretty big screenthanks guys..steven
I use and love it Steve. Give a shout. You have my number.
Hey... I'm new to this. But the nice thing about Birdseye is I didn't have to use it. I was give a Garmin gps (unsure of model), and with some searching found that there are a lot of 3rd party maps one can get. I found backroads map, management units labeled and boardered, and the best was copying a section of topography from Google Earth and saving it going to a specific site for file conversion that Garmin uses. All costom maps I might add. Wish I have more details about where, what and when. I'll look into it again in a couple days and hook you up with how I did it.luck for now...
