    Best Floating Line

I haven’t been fishing for years and want to get back into it this year. Completely out of touch with what’s good these days.

What is a high quality floating line to buy for chironomid fishing?

Lee Wulff lines were my go to for years and still have a few, but have tried Rio with good success. No matter what you buy, size them correctly to your rod. I’m using all Loomis rods and use one size larger as they are a fast action rod. Sage, Orvis ect are medium action and you can use the same weight line as the rod. Clean your line every trip to make your casting easier and line float better.

I have a SA Mastery series??? floating line, love it.

I'll never buy another Cortland line, paid dearly for it and within a few uses the outer coating was flaking off, then it would hang up in the rod guides. I was almost a relief the day it got wrapped up in the MinnKota prop and had to be cut to pieces. A sad thing to say about a $95 piece of coated string.
