    Question Hiking with compound bow

Was just wondering - if I go for a simple hike and i have my bow on my backpack for safety would that be the smartest thing or would it be wise to leave it home and just go for a hike?

Leave it home...by the time you got it off your pack and an arrow ready to shoot your done....unless its a sloth or turtle after you. Bring bear spray if you are worried about creatures. Best defence by far other than shot gun.

Leave it home, use bear spray. Bear spray has to be handy, on your belt, chest holster ( or I made a drop leg holster so it wouldn’t interfere with my pack)

Or take it with you and shoot rotten stumps with judo points at unknown distances. Best practice there is.
