    13.2 pound goose

I don't often get a crack at Canada geese due to lack of permission in goose fields, but there's a chunk of waterfront I go to occasionally that might have one passing by.

Got a gander today that weighted 13.2 pounds, plucked gutted and freezer ready.

Gonna have to invite the neighbours I guess.

Filled the sink, and I got a pic but there's no real perspective for comparison.

Awesome! How are you going to cook it?

I had a terrible experience with a Canada goose, I wasn’t taught how to dress and prepare it properly. I’ve never ate it cooked the right way.

That's a once in a lifetime bird, there was a contest going on The Refuge for a long time that offered a dozen Custom decoys for the first bird that hit I think it was 13#. I'm sure I'll be corrected shortly, regardless that's a hell of bird, I've weighed lots but have never hit the teens. Well done! K

    My Mrs. is an expert.

Roasted really slow in a covered roaster in the oven, likely with apples and onions inside. Really lightly spiced, maybe a bit of marjoram and thyme with some strips of bacon across the breast

It is conceivably the best game meat meal I have ever eaten.
