Was inspired -- BassPro's Wonders of Wildlife exhibit

Hello everyone, Had to make a trek back to see my parents who are in quickly failing health . . . to make the best of a bad situation I had an escape moment and went to the new Wonders of Wildlife Exhibit in Springfield, MO.

Even though I busted through the exhibit in a blistering pace of 2.5 hours [normally takes 4], I was sufficiently pleased to see a celebration of wildlife and the recreational opportunities that are allowed.

A few notes, on section that led into the "hunting" area the following words were blazoned across the wall in a display, here are a sampling of the words -- granted they use the "North American" wording more as "USA", but you get the drift.

"For sportsman and women, conservation is more than just a word -- it's a way of life."

"Only across the great lands and waterways of North America does the mission of conservation belong to the people, to the sportsmen and women who both enjoy and protect the great outdoors. Here, we believe that our fish and wildlife belong to all. And so we take it uniquely upon ourselves as conservationists to proudly and diligently safeguard all this land for all the generations to come."

Seven Principles of North American Wildlife Management
    1) Wildlife belongs to the American Public
    2) Market and commercial hunting is banned
    3) The allocation of wildlife is by law, not power, wealth or position
    4) Under the law, every citizen has an equal opportunity to hunt and fish
    5) Wildlife can be killed for food, fur, self-defense or property protection. Frivolous use is not acceptable
    6) Wildlife is an international resource and should be managed as such
    7) Scientific management is the cornerstone to maintain viable populations

    And finally [US centric],
    1) Did you know there is a 10% excise tax on firearms, bows ammunition and sportfishing tackle
    2) This excise tax, along with license fees and more, helps to generate more than $1.5 billion for wildlife research, management and habitat improvement
    3) Since 1937, they have raised more than $57 billion for public conservation
    4) 80% of the funding for fish and wildlife agencies comes from sportsman and women
    5) Hunters and anglers also donate more than $400 million every year through conservation and sporting organizations

Wow! Cool looking displays. The goats are lit in an interesting way.
When in doubt, just pin it.

Canada should follow the US in finding conservation abundantly.

Also, it's too bad we don't take care of our oceans like we take care of our forests.
