Silver streak jon boats have THE worst welds in the industry.

I did better high, in grade 12, with the gas off

I'm glad he did as I had to bring it back into town.
First time out I had four leaks.
You read that right...........four frick'in leaks.
Had to take it back and they had a welder finish up some welds that
    were porous at the ends.

These 40 wide boats are sure nice and stable.
Still sitting on the fence whether I should of gone for the 12'
    verses the 10'.

Hoping to find a electric boat loader.

I think you could get a decent buy this time of year as spring is just
far 'nuff away the pencil may still be sharp.
Jeez that's no good zuki! My 1448 has been leak free.
Buddy bought a Marlon from domenics and it's real light and wide but just too thin for what i'll put a boat through..

I couldn't believe the prices on John boats at Cabellas in Lacey Washington. I think a 10 footer was around $600 and a 12 was around $800. Had me thinking real hard!

Anyone put a floor in their 1240 or other jon. Im looking at doing a coroplast floor with outdoor carpet on it (lighter than plywood ) but cant find and threads online of someone who has done it and documented it. My concern is durability.

Use 1.5” Dow styrofoam cut between the ribs and rubber mat or belting cut to go over that. Makes the floor smooth to fly fish from and much quieter on the lake.

Yep I have treated plywood with carpet in my 1448.

The foam under between the ribs is a given. The issue I have with plywood or rubber mats is the weight. It all adds up and means less people / gear allowable in the boat. Coroplast weighs very little in comparison.

I run coroplast floorboards. Love it. Crazy light. Totally durable as they're plastic. Plus I think I have about a $100 invested for the panel, glue and cheap carpet from HD.
I store them in the shed… so Year 4 with no issues.
