    Got one of these too. Good bang for the buck.

    I use a Slik CF 624 with a pan head. It works great. Lots of good options out there but don’t go cheap(low quality) on a tripod. I used to use an Optrex tripod from London Drugs for all my backpack hunts and you don’t realize there’s a difference until you switch to a good one. It only takes small amounts of wind to set up vibrations in a cheap tripod and that affects the image quality in a big way. I recommend always using a good quality tripod, that way you get the most out of your optic regardless of the optics quality level.

    I have this cheap Manfrotto one. I paid $85 on Amazon.ca

    Pros: Lightweight (2lb), cheap, compact
    Cons: not sturdy enough in high winds, not fluid head, so panning is not as smooth with it, probabaly be way too shaky when fully extended. (I only use it while sitting).

    Overall, i'd say it's good value for an 85 dollar tripod. Not many out there that weigh 2lb for that price.

    Anyone know where I can order one of these? It's the one I've been leaning towards. I've got to shop online for it, but my go to store doesn't carry this model for what ever reason.

    Love mine too. From steep slopes to sitting in the river glassing/relaxing, it's been great. (I'm using a straight spotter also)

    They are pricey but you can’t beat the outdoorsmans compact medium with pistol grip pan head.

    Can't go wrong with Manfrotto stuff, I use a 190CXPRO4, but I mostly have it for photography, wouldn't recommend blowing that much on a single use item.

    Good tripods show up on Craigslist a lot if you search photography, I'd wait for a quality used set if you're not in a rush, lot of people over spend and then realize it isn't their hobby.

    This is what I have and it is AWESOME. Got the micro pan head as well. My Swaro 65 is very stable on it and the EL 10x42's are excellent with the pistol grip.

    I have one of these;

    I don't have experience with anything else so I can't really say how it competes with other models but it is carbon fibre and it looks just like more expensive models.
