About time they put the eurasian collared dove in the regs however it is an invasive species and should be schedule 'c' not just a general open season. These things aren't the brightest and you should be able to get close enough to identify these from mourning doves.

Great idea, but again, these birds are considered migritory and fall under federal juristiction. So until the feds get the rag out, I doubt anything will happen.

Never heard of them, could you hunt them with a pointer?

Who considers them migratory? They don't go anywhere? They are invasive, until 10 years ago they didn't even exist in north or south America, now they have taken over south America and worked their way up here. They setup shop and stay and multiply 6 times a year. I had to cut down every tree in our yard to get rid of the awful, noisy, pests. They never once went anywhere for winter.

Not sure. Don't think they spend much time on the ground though other than maybe feeding a bit. They are always in the big trees and on power lines around my house. Obnoxiously loud and annoying cooing noise that isn't natural to any other birds around here that I've ever heard so they wake you up constantly.
