    Arrow Re: Alberta

Some rather fine hunting in Southern Alberta alright.
Lived there while gettin' my education, and of course hunted & fished all the time.
Also spent some time with F&W, National Parks and as a Fisheries Consultant there.
Got to know a LOT of the province, and rather liked what I saw. Still wander back to hunt quite frequently...
Best bet is to make friends with some landowners IMO.
Offer to, and Give them a hand at harvest or round-up time, and you're often golden for hunting.
Some of the largest Mulies on the planet in some of those areas...
And as already noted, picking up a bow and getting proficient with it is VERY Worthwhile there!
Loads of great opportunities for the archers over those of rifle hunters. At least at this point...

As noted, Alberta Outdoorsman (linked above) is their main forum.
Word of caution - there is a tight-pantied mod on that site who really likes to dish it out.
Avoid any discussion that deals with FN's and politics, and when you see a storm brewing, DUCK!
That Idjut has been responsible to the loss of many many great contributors over there - all for pretty much no reason beyond fanning his already inflated ego. Been suspended and warned repeatedly there (as have a great many of those who have been around a spell), so I rarely visit and even more rarely post there any more.
Still some good folks on their site, just beware their rabid dog is all.

    Cheers,
    Nog

Medicine Hat seems like a nice town. Climate like Kamloops and 200 gs will get you a really nice place. A bunch of guys I worked with up north reside there and love it.

And.. The Rabid Dog BIT many today, including me.
To suggest that posting a cartoon is somehow "too political" for any forum is reaching.
To nuke as many good contributing and long term members as this complete asshole has is beyond belief.
I was not overly surprised by this given just what it is...

Kind of a shame, it USED to be a half decent place to hang your hat for interests out east...
