Thanks for the post CT. I too hunted there with my Dad and his good pal when I was a kid. Shot my first duck (a teal) with my Savage .410/.22 on a night flight there.
Wanted to get out in the marsh for one last bash at the birds today but did not. Last night my son and I sat around the table discussing what we would do better next season. Got out as much as we could this year but if there is one thing we can improve it is go even more next season. We are also going to start keeping a diary of our days in the field detailing conditions, bag, anything else of note, maybe the odd pic. For the off season we have some blank decoys to paint while we wait for October.
Banded Drake Mallard above, results already, was at least 7 years old, banded near Minto Flats Alaska, in Aug 2011.
Sure is interesting knowing his far these birds travel and more.
