That's not a knock on whitetails and coyotes - that's an admiration of their ability to thrive under just about any conditions. Whitetails and coyotes will, IMO, be around long after we are gone.

This mentality here is exactly why the argument of funding when it comes to WT is not valid

For many other species in BC funding could very well be a positive and I too see a need for it

When it comes to WT it’s a management choice not a funding issue

Coyotes are doing more damage to mule deer numbers then any other 4 legged predator in some areas.

Not a single predator species is suffering do to present management. Predator harvest is extremely low even under very liberal seasons.

Now if govt got involved targeting wolves with aerial shooting or poison your point maybe be valid

There are so many other species' that could use our attention and funding. Mule deer, moose and sheep populations in the shitter just to name a few. We could have an antlerless season for whitetail September-January and they would fare just fine. Antlerless seasons are some of the most under-utilized hunts province wide.

If we focused our efforts on populations that actually needed our help instead of bickering about an ungulate that is as adaptable as any in North America, wildlife would be so much further along.

I hate to burst any ones bubble, but having done both, effective poisoning is never going to happen, and aerial shooting is only effective in some situations. Try it in areas of mature timber, it's exiting as hell but doesn't produce a lot of dead wolves.

Not expecting that to happen here in BC

Only stating that without govt intervention with these methods there will be no substantial impact on predators with the use of hunting/trapping only. Have no experience with them and only know they are methods used in history to lower predator numbers

In parts of the EK You could have a case for all 3 of the cat species being impacted.
