    Wolves around barriere

Taking the hounds to run cats up barriere area in the next week, anyone been up that area recently and noticed where the wolves have been hanging out?

Saw a lot of wolf track closing weekend of deer season about three clicks in off the highway on Badger Creek Road - It's just a bit south of Barriere. Could be tricky if there is heavy snow however -- a little steep with drop offs along the road.

Same as VFX, saw tracks. Did talk with a local who said that he saw wolf's often. Lots of cut blocks with nice timber between and lots of deer around.
    Good luck

Lots of active wolves East of there. I encountered several of them last year out towards Johnson Lake on the plateau just north of there close to Saunders Lake. I made a very foolish mistake at dusk and I was almost their dinner. Apparently you're never too old to make mistakes.

I think we’d all be interested in hearing more about what happened.

Wolves are in darlington/frog lakes headed south. Probably 4 dogs by tracks.
It is well to try and journey ones road and to fight with the air.Man must die! At worst he can die a little sooner." (H Ryder Haggard)

Are you asking because you want to avoid the areas with wolves ? as I didnt think you could run hounds where the wolves were active . Arnt hounds like candy to a pack of wolves ?
