I think this turned into a general ice fishing thread.

I would be lying if I caught my burbot on purpose while jigging. I have ok luck with silver and orange #55 Gibbs Koho spoons. It's usually when I'm bouncing it right off the bottom. But I usually catch them with set lines.

Does anyone ice fish on the island. This thread has given me the bug but I only fish the chuck so I don't know the lakes.

Caught burbot on Wonder spoons, Len Thompson brass size 00, small zingers and buzz bombs when I jig for them, usually at night in 5-15' of water depending on time of the year. Have targeted them when they are hitting the set lines.

For the last 5 years, been hitting walleye, pike and burbit, but wait until after the new year.

    Nice picts all!!

    Cheers

It's a great time to be out on the ice around Kamloops. Long warm days and sunshine and hungry bows!
I howled a coyote onto the ice from a long way up a hill today as well. I had my 223 in the truck but didn't bring it for the sled ride in. It's pre rut for the coyotes so they are pretty easy to agitate. I'll get him next week.

I truly enjoy a day on the hardwater too. 28 lakes to try, only 8 fished in so far.

Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"
