I spent two weeks and several weekends there every years for about 15 years in the 90's and up until 2005. When the population dropped to 500, I could no longer feel good about fishing for them. Our annual pilgrimage up there was cathartic and revitalizing. Now I hunt instead. I will always miss the Mighty "T", but I have discovered a new love of hunting the terra firma instead of the depths of that great river.

I think we are in need of new stewards of our fish...DFO is preserving Atlantic Salmon...Provincial Govt isn't preserving anything!...They sterilze wolves to protect the Cariboo..They want more moose kills to save the Cariboo..WHO saves the FISH?...Our country doesn't care about wild fish and our wildlife...Why are such incompetents running the show?...We need a change ....To what I don't know but we need a change!!!!....Dennis

^^^I agree, and we need to do it before our incompetent government ruins even more fish and wildlife...Trudeau cares more about his hair and giving terrorists hand outs...

There is a chinook run that spawns on the South Thompson River at the outlet of Little Shuswap Lake.
The number of chinook carcasses littering the shoreline of the South Thompson below Little Shuswap Lake dispel the supposition of the article.
Granted, there are a copious number of chinook jacks and an abundant number of pinks as well. Even the eagles sit perched in the trees, tired of their every day fare of chinook. About the only scavenger that is still interested are the turkey vultures as the odor is becoming more agreeable to them.

End of Sept to mid nov is whenthe steelhead get.netted out down here.
    Any other meaningless comparisons?

Spent countless days fishing the Thompson and trying to be optomistic and hope these fish can survive with what seems like a bad deal.Someone has to stop the southern fishery when these fish are returning home.
